چکیده

The authors would like to correct panel H in Fig 3 to show the correct MFI values of PD-L1 expression on human CD4+ T cells. The error occurred during preparation of the figure for manuscript revision. The percentages of infected CD4 cells expressing PD-L1 were accidentally duplicated from panel I in Fig 3. Please see the corrected version of Fig 3 here. open access article distributed under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution License, which permits unrestricted use, distribution, and reproduction in any medium, provided the original author and source are credited.

PD-L1 Expression on Retrovirus-Infected Cells Mediates Immune Escape from CD8+ T Cell Killing

Cytotoxic CD8+ T Lymphocytes (CTL) efficiently control acute virus infections but can become exhausted when a chronic infection develops. Signaling of the inhibitory receptor PD-1 is an important mechanism for the development of virus-specific CD8+ T cell dysfunction. However, it has recently been shown that during the initial phase of infection virus-specific CD8+ T cells express high levels o...

Producing Soluble Human Programmed Cell Death Protein-1: A Natural supporter for CD4+T cell Cytotoxicity and Tumor Cells Apoptosis

Background: Programmed cell death protein-1 (PD-1)/PD-L1 pathway is one of the immune checkpoint pathways involved in regulation of the immune responses and suppression of anti-tumor defense. PD-1/B7-H1-blocking antibodies improve immune responses such as cytotoxic activity of CD8+/CD4+T cells and also increase mortality of tumor cells; however their use is accompanied by adverse effects in pat...

Expression of PD-1/PD-L1 and PD-L2 in peripheral T-cells from non-small cell lung cancer patients

Binding of programmed death-1 (PD-1) with its ligands (PD-L1/2) transmits a co-inhibitory signal in activated T-cells that promotes T-cell exhaustion, leading to tumor immune evasion. The efficacy of antibodies targeting PD-1 and PD-L1 has led to a paradigm shift in lung cancer treatment but the prognostic and predictive value of tumor PD-L1 expression remains controversial. Evaluating PD-1, PD...

Role of programmed death ligands in effective T-cell interactions in extranodal natural killer/T-cell lymphoma

Extranodal natural killer/T-cell lymphoma (ENKL) is marked by a profound cellular immune deficiency that may influence the capacity of T cells to extract an efficient antitumor immune response. It has been confirmed that the B7-CD28 pathway may promote tumor immune evasion by providing a negative regulatory signal. The current study analyzed the expression of programmed death 1 (PD-1)/programme...

Interplay between regulatory T cells and PD-1 in modulating T cell exhaustion and viral control during chronic LCMV infection

Regulatory T (T reg) cells are critical for preventing autoimmunity mediated by self-reactive T cells, but their role in modulating immune responses during chronic viral infection is not well defined. To address this question and to investigate a role for T reg cells in exhaustion of virus-specific CD8 T cells, we depleted T reg cells in mice chronically infected with lymphocytic choriomeningit...
